2025-09-26platform/x86: x86-android-tablets: convert wm1502 devices to GPIO referencesDmitry Torokhov1-1/+1
Now that gpiolib supports software nodes to describe GPIOs, switch the driver away from using GPIO lookup tables for wm1502 devices to using PROPERTY_ENTRY_GPIO(). Adding a swnode to the yt3 spi device changes the name of the SPI/codec device and the sound/soc/intel/boards/bytcr_wm5102.c machine driver looks up the code by name, update the machine driver to use the new name. The original code assumed that if include_sidecar is true, the codec on that link has an add_sidecar callback. But there could be other codecs on the same link that do not have an add_sidecar callback. Add DMI quirk entry for Alienware systems with SKU "0CCC" to enable proper speaker codec configuration (SOC_SDW_CODEC_SPKR). This system requires the same audio configuration as some existing Dell systems. Without this patch, the laptop's speakers and microphone will not work. Highlights include: - Refactoring of the Kconfig menus to be hopefully more consistant and easier to navigate. - Refactoring of the DAPM code, mainly hiding functionality that doesn't need to be exposed to drivers. - Removal of the unused upstream weak paths DAPM functionality. - Further work on the generic handling for SoundWire SDCA devices. - Cleanups of our usage of the PM autosuspend functions, this pulls in some PM core changes on a shared tag. - Support for AMD ACP7.2 and SoundWire on ACP 7.1, Fairphone 4 & 5, various Intel systems, Qualcomm QCS8275, Richtek RTQ9124 and TI TAS5753.

Patch 1 is to drop legacy platform data which in-tree no users are using it Patch 2 is to convert to GPIO descriptors Checking the DTS that use the device, all are using GPIOD_ACTIVE_LOW polarity for reset-gpios, so all should work as expected with this patch. The helpers that are provided by SND_SOC_ACPI_INTEL_MATCH (soc-acpi-intel-ssp-common) are used in SND_SOC_INTEL_SOF_BOARD_HELPERS (sof_board_helpers). SND_SOC_ACPI_INTEL_MATCH is selected by machine drivers. When skl_hda_dsp_generic uses the board helpers, it select SND_SOC_INTEL_SOF_BOARD_HELPERS only but not SND_SOC_ACPI_INTEL_MATCH which initroduce the undefined symbol errors. However, it makes more sense that SND_SOC_INTEL_SOF_BOARD_HELPERS select SND_SOC_ACPI_INTEL_MATCH itself. If the system does not have iDisp codec then mark the HDMI PCM link as ignore. This ensures that HDMI PCMs will not be created when there is no iDisp codec available. When iDisp codec is not present and the HDMI PCMs were created they were not operational, all operations would fail on them. With this patch it is possible to load the topology with HDMI links, but gives the ability to ignore them and thus prevent the creation of the nonworking PCM devices. Merge series from Philipp Stanner <phasta@kernel.org>: A year ago we spent quite some work trying to get PCI into better shape. Some pci_ functions can be sometimes managed with devres, which is obviously bad. We want to provide an obvious API, where pci_ functions are never, and pcim_ functions are always managed. Thus, everyone enabling his device with pcim_enable_device() must be ported to pcim_ functions. Porting all users will later enable us to significantly simplify parts of the PCI subsystem. 2025-05-06ASoC: Intel: sof_sdw: Avoid NULL check fail when re-probingCharles Keepax1-14/+11
The static platform_component name string is overwritten on card tear down by sof_link_unload(). After this has happened the NULL check on it in asoc_sdw_init_simple_dai_link() will fail when the driver is reprobed, causing the machine driver to fail probe. However, it also turns out that the ASoC core sets this string for all topology systems in soc_check_tplg_fes() anyway, after the aforementioned NULL check. So there is no need for the machine driver to set the platform name to anything meaningful at all. Replace all the platform_component stuff with some simple place holders and importantly since the core tampers with the snd_soc_dai_link_component in multiple places allocate a new one for each usage. Add lookup of PCI subsystem vendor:device ID to find a quirk. The subsystem ID (SSID) is part of the PCI specification to uniquely identify a particular system-specific implementation of a hardware device. Unlike DMI information, it identifies the sound hardware itself, rather than a specific model of PC. SSID can be more reliable and stable than DMI strings, and is preferred by some vendors as the way to identify the actual sound hardware. The Vexia EDU ATLA 10 tablet comes in 2 different versions with significantly different mainboards. The only outward difference is that the charging barrel on one is marked 5V and the other is marked 9V. The 5V version mostly works with the BYTCR defaults, except that it is missing a CHAN package in its ACPI tables and the default of using SSP0-AIF2 is wrong, instead SSP0-AIF1 must be used. That and its jack detect signal is not inverted as it usually is. Add a DMI quirk for the 5V version to fix sound not working.
